[Nortrav goes International] Hong Kong - Day 5: The Peak

Welcome to our last day in Hong Kong. Today, we're going to see the entire Hong Kong, 428 meters above sea level.

Sky Terraces 428

Welcome to Victoria Peak, located at Hong Kong island. Well known for its majestic view of Hong Kong Skyline. To get here is very easy. Ride an MTR Train and alight at Central Exit J2 (Chater Garden). From there you can walk through Garden Road until you see the Peak Tram Terminal.

Peak Tram Terminus
The Peak Tram is open at 7am to 12mn everyday. While the Sky Terrace is open at 10am to 11pm (Mon to Fri) and 8am to 11pm (Sat and Sun).

Ticket Prices
Now you bought a ticket, its time to ride the Tram. Before you ride the Tram, it's time to have a glimpse of its history. 120 years in the making.
First Tram

Now its time to ride the Tram. If you missed your Tram, don't worry, there are two trams operating. As the tram moves up to the Peak, you will experience a so called Visual illusion when travelling up. This is according to study conducted by University of Hong Kong. and I quote:

"... passengers riding on The Peak Tram will experience a spectacular visual illusion; when going uphill, the high rises of the right ride of the tram appear to fall toward The Peak. This Peak Tram illusion is induced by a change of the subjective vertical caused by the tilted visual environment and reclining body position of observers inside the tram." The Peak Tram
After a few minute travel up to the Peak, it's time to enjoy the view. Now as you step down from the Tram Terminus, take a time to have a picture to this Tram (the green one) with the logo of 100 years of Peak Tram.

Now, this is the most exciting part. Grab your cameras and set it to Panoramic View to witness the entire Hong Kong Skyline at the top of the Peak. I suggest to wait for 10am for the Sky Terraces to open, or go to the peak at night for a better viewing experience.

Going Home
After a short tour on The Peak, (because we need to get to the airport as early as possible) it's time to go down and prepare to go back to Manila. To go to the airport, ride a bus to Airport or ride the MTR Airport Express. Know your terminal as Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) has two terminals.

HKIA Terminal 1
This marks the end of my very first International Tour. Now, let me share you this. Hong Kong is one of my "Top List to Visit" because of its Attractions and Culture. Thank you Hong Kong for the Wonderful Experience.
