[Featured Post] A guide to Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange (PITX)

Going South?

Even though the name of my blog is "North" Travellers. I often go south for some reasons. Mountains at north are very high and requires training climb and mountains from south are perfect place for training climb. One example is Mt. Makiling (my second favorite climb). Also, my new home is located in south.

Now, travelling south, especially in Cavite area is now convenient with this new terminal. Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange, also known as "PITX", is a newly built terminal located near the Coastal Mall. Replacing the old Coastal Terminal. A convenient way of travel because City Bus, Provincial Bus, Jeepneys and UVs are all here.

Inside PITX
Numerous complaints are circulating around the social media, saying that it's inconvenient and hassle to ride a bus going to Cavite. So I give a try and experience of visiting this so-called "Landport" and to prove that it's much better than the previous integrated terminal terminal.

Travelling here is very simple, you can ride a city bus with a "PITX" or "Coastal" sign, remember to ask the conductor or driver first if they will go to PITX. There's also a shuttle service from Lawton in Manila and from Mall of Asia. Just look for a "PITX" sign.

Now that we're here at PITX and ready for your trip going south, follow these step by step procedure of what will you do inside.

1. Look for the information display.

Information Display
Just like in airport, you will go to these screens for flight details. In PITX, look for information display for the availability of trips, bus company, time of departure, gates and bays and the status of the trip if it is departed of not yet.

2. Go to the ticket booth and get your trip ticket.

Ticket Booth
Unlike the old terminal, you will look for the bus of your destination and go straight in. NOT on this terminal. Get your ticket first. First is to look at the ticket booth. Each booth has a designated destination. For example if you are going to Ternate, Cavite, look for the ticket booth with a "Ternate" sign.

Now that you got a ticket. Read the ticket and Remember some information indicate at your ticket
- Bus Company (Because some buses has same routes and same time of departure)
- Date and Time of Departure
- SEAT NUMBER (I capitalized this because this is the most important, if your ticket has a seat number assigned to you, sit there. If it's indicated "Standing" stay outside the bus and stay there until the conductor says so).
- Gate Number (Where you will wait and where you will board to your bus).
- Bay Number (Where the bus is waiting for you).

3. Go to the gates

Gates
You will wait for boarding time. Always pay attention to the bus arriving. But don't worry, they will announce if your bus is arriving and ready for boarding.

4. Boarding Time

To get in to the gates for your bus, just simply tap the QR code from the ticket to the turnstile.

5. There you have it. Welcome Aboard

Now you follow the steps, went to the gate assigned, followed the bay number where the bus is waiting. Congrats, Welcome aboard.

Find this inconvenient? NOT ME, it's better, clean, organize and more importantly, convenient. There's also snack booth for you to eat while you wait. Hope that this kind of terminal will be available for buses travelling north soon.

Now its time for you to try and share your experience. See you next trip.
