Mt. Maculot Part 2

After Two years since the first time I climb Mt. Maculot, I'm Back! But now, with even intense weather since that time na umakyat kami, umulan sa campsite.

Mt. Maculot is a 706 MASL (Rockies) climb with a dramatic assault. An extreme way to view the Taal lake is to climb the Rockies. This climb is part of the Mapua Mountaineering Club's 24th Anniversary. This climb was set on November 29-30 at nataon na umulan sa Batangas. But that doesn't stop the climb. We arrived at Cuenca at 10pm at nag-start kami umakyat ng 11pm

Due to Typhoon Glenda, The new trail was closed kaya pinaakyat kami, together with our Trail guide, sa old trail at naakyat namin in 2 hours. Still, it is the same steep trail na inakyat ko 2 years ago. Kapansin-pansin din na malinis ang trail. Walang kalat kahit balat ng candy, but even the trail is clean, please remember the "Leave No Trace Principle".

at exactly 1:30am, nakarating kami ng campsite. In preparation for Rockies climb, nag rest kami at kinabukasan, breakfast.

After breakfast, it's time to climb the Rockies. But, before that. Nagkaroon ng briefing about sa "dila" at dun sa pinaglaglagan ni Victor Ayson. Nakitaan ng crack ang nasabing part na iyon kaya naging maingat kami pagdating sa Rockies.

Rockies
This is it. The 706 meter (altitude) Mt. Maculot Rockies. From campsite you will go down then going up for 15 minutes

here are some pictures.

To give CHANCE to other climbers, we quickly go back to campsite and prepare for descent.

Descent
We were suppose to descend as early as 10am. Pero umulan ng malakas. But the rain last more or less 15 minutes. Then break camp and go down in preparation for club's anniversary celebration.

"Mt. Maculot is a life-changer". The most unforgettable quote from the former president of the Club.

Still the best climb na masarap ulitin and I hope that I will climb back again in Mt. Maculot.
